Portlaoise Camera Club launched our exhibition in the Dunamaise Arts Centre tonight, There was a great attendance of members, family and friends. Artist, Tom Joyce, launched the exhibition and people really enjoyed what Tom had to say. The exhibition will remain up until the end of September and all prints are for sale. Details in the centre.

Portlaoise Camera Club are delighted to announce that we will have an exhibition downstairs in the Dunamaise Theatre for the month of September. The Club have received help with funding as part of the Creative Ireland Laois Project and we are very grateful for this. PCC members family and friends travelled to Ballyferritor over the weekend. We stayed in lovely accommodation. If you are travelling contact John Hooton or his lovely boss Noreen :-) The weather could have been kinder but it wasn't bad and we had a great weekend. 1am bed and 3am start was a little difficult for some but what happens in Kerry...........

Sunday May 28th Dublin Zoo What a great day out the club had and the weather was just perfect, We arrived early and was just in time for the feeding of the animals.

This Wednesday will be a practical night indoor, where we will endeavor to recreate an iconic photo from the past.Camera,flash, tripod etc needed. The Irish Photographic Federation awards distinctions on three levels – Licentiate, Associate and Fellow, in ascending order. The Licentiate is the first of these levels and requires a panel of ten images to be presented. The panel may be general subject matter or in a specialist category and must demonstrate competence in key areas of camera skill as outlined in the Licentiateship Handbook. Applicants put forward a panel of ten prints, which are assessed by a panel of experienced photographers. Successful applicants are entitled to use the letters LIPF after their name. On Saturday the 13th Pat Guilfoyle a member of our club received his Licentiateship(LIPF) form the Irish Photography Federation, Congratulations Pat from all the club.
